THE NUTCRACKER IN JULY!

Welcome (and welcome back),

The Nutcracker in July is a production for adult ballet dancers (16+), across all local studios, regardless of their level or background.

The Nutcracker In July was established in 2024 to begin an annual tradition for years to come. Nine sold-out ballet performances over two years has proved Canberra ballet dancers want more local opportunities to: 

• Provide young children with exposure to ballet (some for the first time!) with an accessible show, slightly shortened from the full-length ballet. Kid’s activities during the interval helped to foster a love of the performing arts - like when many little ones met the principal dancers.

• Perform in a professional-quality production and work towards a long-term, collective goal with fellow bun-heads!

• Connect with local ballet and theatre goers showcasing Canberra’s incredible local talent.

At its core, this is a community event offering local ballet dancers a local opportunity to connect and perform in a narrative ballet and we are so happy to offer it again in 2026!
